Sarah Schobben, PT, DPT, Cert. DN
Sarah Schobben joins the practice from Washington, D.C. where she was the Director of Dance Medicine at a local clinic. Sarah not only treated dancers from the Washington Ballet School and local dance programs, but also specialized in orthopedic care for musicians and vocalists, elite and amateur athletes, pediatric patients, and pre/post-partum clients. She utilizes advanced manual therapy techniques including joint mobilizations, trigger point release, myofascial cupping, and is certified in dry needling.
As a collegiate dancer herself, Sarah developed a passion for performing arts medicine while completing her undergraduate degree in Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida. Following her Doctoral studies at Touro College in NYC, she was selected for an affiliation with the Boston Ballet. From there she worked with NeuroTour, the premier provider of onsite physical therapy treatment for Broadway shows. She toured North America for three years as the Full-Time physical therapist with productions such as HAMILTON and Riverdance providing care to performers, crew, and musicians.
After settling in D.C., Sarah began pursuing her interest in Pelvic Floor and Women’s Health through coursework at the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She is passionate about educating and bringing pelvic health awareness to both her athletic and pre/post-partum patients.
Sarah values an individualized and holistic approach to patient care that envelops the whole person, not just one body part. Through hands-on manual therapy, targeted exercise, biomechanical training, and patient education she strives to return patients to their optimal level of performance. When Sarah is not in the clinic, she enjoys gardening, live music, hiking, and exploring the city.
